tasks:
As a Test Engineer at Technology for Propulsion and Innovation (T4i), an Italian aerospace startup, I was involved in the design, testing, and analysis of HTP/paraffin or HTP/HTPE hybrid propulsion systems. I designed a graphite nozzle to be tested on the catalytic section of a 7 kN hybrid engine, ensuring compatibility with the engine's operational environment. Additionally, I conducted material research and component sizing, selecting screws and materials to enhance hybrid engine performance and reliability.
I also developed a spring-loaded mold for casting fiberglass composite blocks, enabling in-house manufacturing of thermal protection systems.
My role extended to assembling multi-channel data acquisition boxes to support testing conducted outside the company’s primary facilities.
In the testing phase, I conducted experimental campaigns on 1 kN and 7 kN hybrid engines, evaluating the performance of different nozzle materials and thermal protection solutions. This hands-on experience in propulsion testing and materials research strengthened my expertise in engine performance analysis and experimental validation in a fast-paced, innovative aerospace environment.
